Taking cash-on-delivery orders on WhatsApp without mistakes
· 6 min read · KarobarAi team
Cash on delivery is how much of Pakistan prefers to buy online, and WhatsApp is where many of those orders start. But an order spread across ten messages is easy to get wrong. A wrong size or an incomplete address means a returned parcel and two delivery charges lost.
Collect everything before you confirm
Before an order is final, make sure you have every detail written down in one place:
- The exact item, size and colour
- Quantity
- The total, including delivery charges
- Full delivery address with area and city
- A phone number the courier can call
- The customer's name
Read the order back and ask for a clear yes
Send one message that summarises the whole order and ask the customer to reply YES. For example: “2 × Brown Wallet = Rs 7,800, cash on delivery, DHA Phase 5 Lahore. Reply YES to confirm.”
This one step catches most mistakes, and a customer who has typed YES is far more likely to accept the parcel.
Send updates when the order moves
A short message when the order is confirmed and another when it ships keeps the customer expecting the parcel. Customers who know a delivery is coming are easier to reach on the day.
Make it consistent
The checklist only works if it's followed every time, including at midnight and on your busiest day. This is where automation helps most: KarobarAi follows the same steps for every order, reads the order back, waits for a yes, places it in your dashboard and updates the customer when you mark it shipped.
Let KarobarAi do this for you, day and night.
